Tanausú Luis is a Spanish fingerstyle extraordinaire who has showcased his acoustic talents across the world, having traveled across Spain, Austria, Germany, Greece, Czech Republic, Portugal, France and the United States. Tanausú is unique in that he is more than just an exceptional guitarist, he is a traveling performing artist, primary and secondary teacher, and sponsored guitarist with internationals awards for classical and contemporary music.

En Tránsito, his last work is a fingerstyle album with original compositions for acoustic guitar that appears in a time of change, a self-reflection of the past, looking back to our origins and mostly mixing percussion and loops, guitar and groove, with origins and influences from Spain and The Canary Islands.

Who is?

Tanausú Luis was born in January 3, 1981 in Icod de Los Vinos, Tenerife. Were his parents who made him fall in love with the guitar and music.

In the Conservatory of Santa Cruz de Tenerife he met Ines Delgado Mesa who taught him that in Art the beauty and sacrifices go hand in hand. In the Conservatory of Salamanca he met brilliant mates and finished obtaining a distinction.

It was in Salamanca and thanks to teachers as Alberto Rosado where he realized about his interest in chamber and contemporary music. During those years joined the Retratos Duo and Salamanca Quartet .

Later he studied at the University of Mozarteum in Salzburg (Austria) Magister Degree with the speciality in guitar focused on chamber music. With Alejandro Diaz Bandrés, Kostas Tosidis and Giorgos Pervolarakis they founded in Salzburg in the 2007 The Miscelanea Guitar Quartet, laureated quartet specialized in contemporary music.

Under the supervision of the teacher and friend Marco Tamayo and also attending lessons taught by other great maestros such as Eliot Fisk, Ricardo Gallén and Martin Mumelter he graduated at the Mozarteum University in 2009 obtaining high marks.

Tanausú also studied Music Primary Teaching Studies at the University of La Laguna, in Tenerife. Since 2010 he has worked as a music teacher in Primary and Secondary schools in the island of Tenerife. Nowadays is working as a guitar teacher in music schools in Palma de Mallorca

The Project

In 2011 started his solo project “En Tránsito", his last work is a fingerstyle album with original compositions for acoustic guitar that appears in a time of change, a self-reflection of the past, looking back to our origins and mostly mixing percussion and loops, guitar and groove, with origins and influences from Spain and The Canary Islands.

In 2014 he became an sponsored guitarist of many well known music trends.

He has performed in international music festivals and several countries such as Spain, Austria, Germany, Greece, Czech Republic, the United States, Portugal and France

Nowadays he combine the life as a music teacher in several music schools with the fingerstyle way of life.(concerts, workshops, fairs…)

Recordings

June, 2009: Miscelanea Guitar Quartet Salzburg Concert published in 2012 under the ARSIS record label.

January 2014: “En tránsito”. Original fingerstyle compositions. Recorded, mixed and produced by Luis del Toro in Multitrack Studios and Bull room Studios II

Awards

Between the years 2007-2010 got seven international music prizes with the Miscelanea Guitar Quartet.

2nd prize in the National Competition Luis Milan of chamber music with guitar. (Valencia-2004-Salamanca Guitar Quartet)

4th prize in the chamber with guitar Villa Ollería Competition in 2003. (Retratos Duo)

¿Quién es?

Tanausú Luis Díaz nace el 3 de Enero de 1981 en Tenerife, España y pronto sus padres hacen que se enamore de la música y la guitarra.

En el conservatorio de Santa Cruz de Tenerife aprende a través de Inés Delgado Mesa que el arte, la belleza y el sacrificio van de la mano.

Posteriormente termina el Grado Superior en el Conservatorio Superior de Salamanca obteniendo matrícula de honor. Profesores como Alberto Rosado le imprimen un interés extra por la música de cámara y la música contemporánea. Durante esos años forma parte del Dúo Retratos y el Cuarteto Salamanca.

Posteriormente pasa a estudiar en la Universidad Mozarteum de Salzburgo en Austria un Máster de guitarra enfocada hacia la música de cámara. En 2007 funda junto con Alejandro Díaz Bandrés, Giorgios Pervolarakis y Kostas Tosidis Miscelánea Guitar Quartet. Laureado cuarteto especializado en música contemporánea.

Bajo la supervisión de su profesor y amigo Marco Tamayo, y atendido por otros grandes maestros como Eliot Fisk, Ricardo Gallen o Martin Mumelter se gradúa en 2009 obteniendo altas calificaciones.

Tanausú también estudia Magisterio Musical en la Universidad de La Laguna y desde el 2010 trabaja como profesor de Primaria y Secundaria en Tenerife. Actualmente ejerce como profesor de guitarra en diferentes escuelas de música en Palma de Mallorca.

Ha actuado en festivales internacionales de música en España, Austria, Alemania, Grecia, República Checa, Portugal y Estados Unidos. En 2011 comienza con su proyecto de guitarra acústica a solo.

Grabaciones

Junio de 2009: Miscelánea Guitar Quartet Salzburg Concert publicado en 2012 bajo el sello discográfico ARSIS.

Enero de 2014: En tránsito. Composiciones originales de fingerstyle. Grabado, mezclado y producido por Luis del Toro en Estudios Multitrack y Bull Room Studios.

Premios

Siete premios internacionales con Miscelánea Guitar Quartet entre los años 2007-2010.

2º Premio en el concurso nacional Luis Millán de música de cámara con guitarra (Valencia-2004 Cuarteto Salamanca).

4º premio en el concurso de guitarra Villa de Ollería en 2003 con el dúo Retratos.
